I first started collecting MUSCLEs all the way back in the days of Zayre. My very first MUSCLE purchase was a 28-pack... with Tortle in it! Needless to say, I had found a friend for life.


After my childhood, my MUSCLEs were saved from yard-sale Hell. I kept my favorite little wrestlers in a blue shoebox (ornated with MUSCLE logos, of course) under my bed for years. One day, I brought them out, savored the MUSCLE smell and remembered the good times I had with MUSCLEs, and decided to complete my MUSCLE army! I found Darrin's MPS site, which inspired me to make this site, and the rest is history!

A few figures have stirred up some controversy amongst MUSCLEheads. These figures are not shown on the poster nor on any other official MUSCLE item, yet they have the same MUSCLE-like plastic and feature the Y/S*N*T trademark. They are periodically found in MUSCLE lots from both the US and Japan. Are they truly MUSCLEs?

M.U.S.C.L.E. Mailaway Poster

Thanks to Doctor Dew for compositing and restoring the poster image above!  The M.U.S.C.L.E. poster was a mail-away offer from Mattel. One could be ordered by sending two four pack proof of purchases or one 28-pack proof of purchase. At first, the poster featured all-pink figures. As the line expanded into non-pink colors, the poster was updated with the new colors. Shown here is the all-pink poster.

M.U.S.C.L.E. Basic Toyline Info What are M.U.S.C.L.E.s? What's their story? M.U.S.C.L.E.s, also called MUSCLE men or MUSCLE things, are small, 2-inch PVC figures from the 80s with an "intergalactic wrestling" theme (M.U.S.C.L.E. is an acronym for Millions of Unusual Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere). They were most likely released in late 1985. The toyline included "hundreds of different figures" and various accessories (see the links to your right for details).
